a full day that was VERY fullfilling!

What a wonderful experience today was. I was picked up today by Operation Shanti (i use that instead of her name as she prefers that) and we drove to where they set up everyday to feed the street kids and some of the moms....mats were unrolled and soon they began arriving...ready for their daily dose of liquid vitamins, baby wipes to clean up with, and small sheets of newspaper that they roll into an ice cream cone shape...then filled with a crunchy local snack they sell here in India.

We all gathered and sat down and put our fingers in mudra and chanted Jai Rama and then they eat and play and laugh and have fun...the most fun they will have all day long. Those kids...you can't even begin to understand their lives, its just not comprehensible to those that have not come here and witnessed them first hand. Sitting with them on the sidewalk and looking into those beautiful brown eyes...it is heartbreaking to see, but yet it is beautiful to be here and see them and spend time with them because it opens your eyes and your heart in a way nothing else could even begin to.

Operation Shanti does a fantastic job. I had no clue before i came, just exactly ALL that they do, but let me tell you...If I were rich, I would give them a huge donation because they have put literally their Heart and Soul into helping these kids and Moms in ways you can't even fathom. I just had to sit with it all when I came home...words just don't give it justice.

There were volunteers there, ordinary people from Germany who have been here for 3 months and DO NOT practice Yoga..instead they came out every single day and helped Operation Shanti feed and clean and play with the kids and their love and devotion was so beautiful to see....that is them in the photo. My new friends! There were some local Indian teens there as well who come to help out...such beautiful kids themselves~making a difference by being out there and taking time to do so....

If you have time when you come to Mysore to practice Yoga, whether you are here now..or plan to be in the future and would like to create some "Good Karma"...contact Operation Shanti and offer some of your spare time or make a donation....it will change your life. Along with changing the lives of the kids and Moms...remember...a little goes a long way and the more you give, the more you get. Its just so very true...
